...Nick Tooliatos, a partner of Randick O’Dea & Tooliatos, LLP, a Pleasanton law firm, was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate for promotion to Brigadier General and selected to command the 5th Brigade, 75th Division, at Camp Parks, Dublin, California. His change of command will occur at Camp Parks, on 21 July 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

Tooliatos, currently an Army Reserve Colonel (Promotable), just returned last week from a tour of active duty with the Department of Defense Inspector General’s Office.  During his deployment, he spent over a month in Iraq assessing the readiness of the Iraqi Security Forces Inspectors General and the Department of Defense’s support to the advisory effort with Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Joint Headquarters and Counter-terrorism Bureau.  Prior to this tour, Colonel Tooliatos was the Assistant Division Commander (Support) for the 104th Division in Vancouver, Washington.

This was the second time that Tooliatos was mobilized in support of the Global War on Terrorism.  While in Iraq, Colonel Tooliatos was also able to interact daily with many Soldiers of the 104th Division that he helped prepare for their one-year mobilization as part of the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq.  “I am amazed by the courage, dedication and professionalism that our Soldiers display every day over there under difficult conditions,” said Tooliatos.

A Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law, Tooliatos is looking forward to returning to the full-time practice of law assisting individuals and owners of closely held businesses with their business and real estate transactions, tax issues and estate planning.  He is also eager to embrace the challenges associated with his new Army Reserve position as Commander of the 5th Brigade, 75th Division, a unit responsible for the staff training of Army Reserve and National Guard battalions and brigades just before they deploy to places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Representing key clients in the Bay Area, his law firm specializes in several business arenas including patent and intellectual property law, emerging business representation, technology licensing and asset transfer, corporate and business law, employment law, business litigation, real estate and land use law, taxation and competitive business practices.

Tooliatos resides in San Ramon, California, with his wife Joni and his two sons, Nickolas and Michael.  Nickolas is a senior at Washington State University and Michael is a junior at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
